First Time Attending a Workshop Online or Using Collaborate?
For access to our workshops online or Collaborate rooms in any of your courses, the college uses an internet based classroom program called Blackboard Collaborate.
If you have never participated in an online workshop (or used an online conference space), please read the information below:
- When using Collaborate for the first time, you need to pick whether you will use a PC/Mac or a Smartphone/Tablet
- PC/Mac - when you click on the link or enter it into your web browser, you will be directed to download a few Java scripts and it might take a several minutes to get you started in the web conferencing room if you are using a PC or Mac computer or laptop.
- iPad, iPhone/iPod Touch or other smartphone/tablet - there is a free Collaborate (Blackboard Collaborate) application that you can download. You will be able to see the presentation, hear the audio and be able to mute and unmute your own microphone to speak, but if there is any video feed for the presenters, you will not be able to see the video.
