Academic Support At-A-Glance

 

Below you will find a chart listing Academic Support resources linked to student needs. We can assist students at all academic levels and in a variety of ways. A description of the resources and links to how to access these resources appear below the chart. If you are unsure of where and how to get the resources and assistance you need, contact us:

DAS:

The Director of Academic Support can provide resources and services in all listed areas and also serves as the primary consultant to faculty on developing resources for their studies and conducts secondary assessment of student’s pre-college writing needs.


Learning Coaches:

The Learning Coaches can provide resources and services in all listed areas and also serve as a primary consultant to students and faculty in identifying issues and connecting with academic skills resources.


Peer Coaches:

The Peer Coaches can provide resources and services in some of the listed areas and also serve as embedded academic support resources for faculty and students in study groups, residency classes and independent studies based on faculty requests. 

 


Workshops: Workshops are offered September through June on a variety of topics centered on academic skills and strategies development. For descriptions and materials go to our website.


Courses:

We offer 3 studies for credit:

ESC 101: Intro to College Learning;  

 

Enhancing the Academic Eye; and  

 

Post-Secondary Learners – Practicum.

Smarthinking:

A free online service, Smarthinking provides e-tutoring  in Math (from basic to calculus), Statistics, Accounting, Economics, and Finance, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Writing, Spanish Reading & Writing and Nursing.


Online Resources/Skills Assessments:

On our website and in meetings with the Academic Support staff, we can direct students to the appropriate resources and assessments that will help them with their individual needs and goals. Go to our website or contact the DAS or Learning Coaches.
